Greetings from Antigua, Guatemala! We are David & Juli Voncannon and are full time missionaries serving on the Youth With A Mission base. We are currently Directors of the base's Discipleship Training School program, which is a 5 month "in the field" training program designed to help young people discover the deep intimate love of God and how they can pour out that love in broken world around them.
We believe that youth hold the keys to the future of any nation and recognize that whoever disciples these young people (whether it is the secular society / worldly values or the church / Kingdom values) will essentially disciple the future of the nation. We see this as a long term, long lasting approach to addressing the many societal breakdowns that we are seeing in today's society.
Our intent in launching this fundraiser is to help fund our ministry as well as helping us to cover some basic expenses of living here in Guatemala (housing, utilities, etc). Right now, we are looking to raise an estimated $14,000 to cover various expenses that we anticipate over this next year. The breakdown of this $14000 is as follows:
1. Living expenses: $7000.
--This basically helps us cover rent of our home in Antigua as well as basic utilities.
2. DTS Outreach in May & June: $4000
--Due to serving as leaders of the Discipleship Training School, we will be leading a 2 month outreach with the students of the school.
3. DTS Scholarships: $4000
--Though we have never seen God not provide for any student, we do recognize that there are some situations where offering a partial scholarship will greatly encourage a potential student and dramatically increase their own personal faith.
In order to raise this funding, we will be creating support levels based on yearly amount pledged. Any overage in our fundraising efforts will be directly poured into our scholarship fund.
Bronze Supporter - $25/month or one time offering of $300
Silver Supporter - $50/month or one time offering of $600
Gold Supporter - $100/month or one time offering of $1200
Bronze Diamond Supporter - $250/month or a one time offering of $3000
Silver Diamond Supporter - $500/month or a one time offering of $6000
Gold Diamond Supporter - $1000/month or a one time offering of $12000
In order to attain the needed $15,000 we need:
4 Gold Supporters
10 Silver Supporters
18 Bronze Supporters
