Help me work at Nea Kavala refugee camp in Greece

I'm Mariana, I'm 28 years old, and I'm a journalist and translator who has been working very hard the last year on an online newspaper. I studied politics, which made me care deeply about the migration crisis that started in 2015. Ever since then, I studied a lot, always waiting for the right moment to join an organization and actually do something to help. 

So, I quit a steady job at a newspaper after getting accepted to be part of this organization, which was funded spontaneously by a group of friends who really wanted to improve the lives of all those people living in waiting lines in Greece. 

The money from this go fund me will help me pay for my travels from Portugal to Greece and other expenses that may occur, and any amount which I do not need will be happily donated to those at We Are Here, the NGO which I'm about to join.

My journey starts on the 18th of April, with yet no end in sight. Many of the other volunteers have found ways to campaign and get financial support and thus extend their time at Polykastro. 

I will be working at Nea Kavala camp, which hosts around 600 refugees, from many different origins.

I often think that it could be our families in those boats, it could be me, it could be you.

It was my mum one day, escaping the war in Angola, not knowing whether her loved ones were alive or not. She was lucky, and I think all of these people deserve the same opportunities she was given to start a new life in Portugal after what she endured in the war.
