Volunteer Trip to Belgrade, Serbia

For two months beginning August 17th, I’m heading to the Balkans again- specifically Belgrade, Serbia. I’ll be volunteering for BelgrAID, who runs a kitchen and warehouse that feeds 1-2,000 refugees daily. This NGO has expressed a need for volunteers, and the opportunity seemed like a good fit as the cause is close to my heart. These refugees, mostly unaccompanied minors from Afghanistan and Pakistan, are trapped in camps and abandoned warehouses as the countries they seek to settle in have closed their borders. I’m expecting it to be an eye-opening experience, and hope that my kitchen skills will be put to some good use.

I am extremely grateful for emotional/prayer support- that means a lot to me! However if you'd also like to offer financial support, it would certainly be helpful. Since this is an upaid position, I'll be without income for a couple of months as I pay for the cost of living. My goal of $1,250 includes my travel fare ($900) as well as rent for the apartment I will be staying in ($350). I am not raising funds for additonal costs including any personal, recreational, etc. If my trip is funded beyond its financial goal, or if any of my costs decrease, the extra money will go straight to the organization BelgrAID.  Donors can count on a sweet thank-you gift :).
