Hi there !
My name is Luis Marco and I am 19 years old, currently studying Biotechnology Engineering.
I have always been fascinated by nature and I have always been concerned for the extinction of the species. Therefore, I want to become a volunteer in July 2017.
The gathered money will be used to help the conservation and tracking of sea turtles in Bahamas in one of Earthwatcher's Expeditions. This expedition is extremly important because nowadays these turtles are seriously endangered):
- Overharvesting and illegal tarde.
-Habitat Loss.
-Climate Change.
-Destruction of Nests.
The 4 species that visit the Bahamas each year are endangered.
With the money, you will help monitor the abundance of turtles in mangrove creeks and other habitats and track the physical features of those habitats to find out what draws turtles to a particular place, the abundance and distribution of sea turtles will be recorded, and a mapping of the habitat and food resources availability will be done. Furthermore, the money will also be used to cover the volunteer's expenses (3 meals per day, accomodation and research costs) and the required equipment for the expedition. Finally, your money will contribute to a long-term look at where the sea turtles go, both as populations and as individuals in order to protect them.
I will also have to pay for my flights, and a ferry in order to get to Cape Eleuthera, Bahamas (They are not included in the Expedition cost).

This means so much for me because I have always wanted to return something to the wonderful world we live in. Unfortunately, I do not have enough resources to make these change by myself, that is why I'm asking for your support and I got a job.
