Victims Fund at Mama Marks Park
My name is Allen Warren, City Council Representative representing North Sacramento, District 2, in the City of Sacramento. I am urging you to support 3 victims of a
tragic crime that happened in my community on April 2nd, 2017. Around 3 pm, two children and a woman were shot near a Mama Marks Park in Del Paso Heights while they attended a family gathering for a birthday party. The victims, an 11-year-old boy and a woman were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The third victim, a 6-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital by her mother (all non-related). During the shooting, in a heroic effort, the 11-year-old boy jumped on top his 18-month-old sister to shield her from the bullets, thus sustaining injury. His family are homeless and are in need of additional support. These funds will go directly to the 3 victims and their family to support their recovery.
Del Paso Heights is a unique and diverse community that is often plagued by the negative reports it receives from the media. It is one of the oldest community in Sacramento and it is one of my top priority to help revitalize the area.
For questions, concerns, or to give in-kind donation please call my office at (916) [phone redacted].
At this moment, we are not able to share the name of the victims pending a police investigation of the crime.
