Want to join us in making a difference? We are raising money to benefit South Central Regional Veterans Group, which is the committee building the Veterans Memorial Park in Rolla MO, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
The Veterans Memorial Park, sponsored by the South Central Regional Veterans Group (SCRVG), is a beautiful park located in Rolla MO and we are asking for your support. The park is nearly complete but we have one more large project. We would like to construct a 50x64 open-air pavilion to cover an existing pad and seating area. Our goal is to raise $50,000 for this project and we are about half way there. Any support is greatly appreciated and all donations go towards continued construction and maintenance of the park.
The city donated the land and everything constructed at the park has been through donations and volunteers. The park was dedicated on Memorial Day 2007 and we have been working diligently ever since. We have had donations from local businesses and individuals and have also raised money through the selling of Honor/Memorial Bricks and t-shirts as well as other fund raising events. But now we need your support.
The park currently has restrooms, picnic pavilion, a drinking fountain, a walking trail that has monuments for each of Americans wars and the trail ties into a local walking trail, a pentagon with flags and the symbols of all the military branch’s on each side, a POW/MIA monument, a Purple Heart monument, a Congressional Medal of Honor monument, a Gold Star family monument and a large seating area for ceremonies. The city holds its annual Memorial Day ceremonies at the park and there have been many other functions and ceremony’s at the park.
Additional construction plans include the pavilion over the large seating area, a backdrop decorative wall at the seating area, and an index sign of all Honor Bricks located at the park.
The South Central Regional Veterans Group consist of members from the Korean War Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, The Retired Enlisted Association, Disabled American Veterans, and Scottish American Military Society.
