Our dear friend Vern Hunt experienced a stroke 6 months ago and since then, he has made progress, but also some setbacks.
We are hosting a benefit for Vern and family at Lost Key Golf Course Clubhouse on September 24th from 4:30 to 6:30. Come visit with Vern and share in the afternoon's activities of silent auction - lots of great times include round of golf for 4, 3 night stay in a vacation rental accommodation from Destin to Gulf Shores, 50/50 raffle, chipping/putting contest, and more. Appetizers will be served and cash bar.
The below is Susan Hunt's update from early August. Lets help where we can! If you can't attend the benefit, please donate to help them.
Prayer Concerns:
--Please continue to pray for Vern's vision, short term memory, and his ability to concentrate. Focusing on a task for more than a few minutes hurts his eyes and gives him pounding headaches. Pray for the headaches in general. They are still plaguing him daily.
--Vern finished the neurological testing and we will receive the results this Friday, the 14th. Pray for a good report on his brain function!
--Keep praying for his left side to regenerate, bringing back control and movement of his arm, hand, leg and foot. He is walking a few minutes at a time but we are asking for TOTAL recovery!!
--Please pray for strength, stamina, endurance, and energy in his entire body!!
--Depression is common with a long term disability. Please stand with us and fight the thoughts that torment the mind.
--Would you all pray for me, too? I am frazzled often and battle anxiety trying to juggle all the needs and demands of the situation and just daily life. I have had offers to help (which I truly appreciate!) but what I really need can't be done by anyone else but me. And the practical things just don't matter. Thank you!!
--Continue to pray for our future provision. A marathon is more costly than a sprint!! God has provided for our needs repeatedly over the years and we are confident He will continue. We wonder how He will do it this time!! Pray for another miracle!!
Vern and I send you all our thanks and gratitude for praying and encouraging us in our time of need. We consider ourselves so blessed to have such a wonderful support group. Like so many other things that God knew and provided for before Vern's injury, He also provided all of you to rise up and pray. HE is good and so are YOU!!
