From left to right this is Dan, Nic and Rowan. We are three non-verbal men in our late 20's with varying disabilities all living together in supported accommodation in the Redlands, Qld.
We have very social lives and love getting out in the Community daily. We enjoy going Bowling, Swimming, clothes shopping, to the Cinemas, Disco's, Theme parks, the Beach, BBQ's in the park etc.
For the past year we have been using a Van to access the Community that was kindly donated to us via a family member. This Van is over 25 years old and its time has sadly come to an end. We are now turning to the public with hopes to raise enough donations to fund a new second hand Van that will continue to allow us to lead independent lives.
Unfortunately our funding doesn't cover the cost of a vehicle at all and getting around is becoming quite difficult, especially in Qld's Summer heat!
Rowan has Cerebral Palsy and can only access the Community in his wheelchair. Dan has Angelman Syndrome and also requires a wheelchair to access the Community. Nic has Scoliosis and can walk independently but requires a wheelchair at times when long walks are planned. We would love to acquire a wheelchair accessible Van with enough room to hold two more compacted wheelchairs.
