Christmas Gifts for Kids in Direct Provision, Cork

Hello, my name is Hazel Hurley from Clonakilty and I am part of a group of Cork women who are working to deliver Christmas gifts to every direct provision centre in Cork. The Drishane centre in Milstreet is the last but certainly not least on Santa's list!

The Drishane direct provision centre has 121 children, with more children expected to arrive at the centre before Christmas. The money raised from this appeal will be used to give a €50 Smiths Toys voucher or One4All voucher to each mother in the centre so that they can buy a Christmas present for their kids. 

Also, the social worker who works with this centre, with whom I have been in regular contact, would love to take the children ice-skating but doesn't have the funds to do so. They went to the aquadome in Tralee during the summer and had a ball. Our idea with the remainder of the money raised is to give these children the gift of a day out ice-skating in Killarney, followed by pizza!

All funds raised will be used solely for this purpose. Money will be used by meto buy One4All vouchers, Smyths toys voucher as well as ice-skating tickets which I will then hand deliver to the mothers and their social worker. I will share updates on my social media channels of the handing over of the vouchers and the ice-skating trip.
