The goal of the Barton G. Kids Hear Now Foundation is to assist children with hearing loss and their families successfully transition from a silent world to a world of sound with the use of a cochlear implant technology. The Barton G. Kids Hear Now Cochlear Implant Family Resource Center, which is housed at the UHealth Ear Institute was established to create a seamless process that takes into account the social and emotional aspects of deaf children and their families while providing the most current medical technology. The Center places an emphasis on the viability of cochlear implants and auditory verbal therapy as an option for deaf children to become part of the hearing world.
The Kids Hear Now Center provides the following care to children with hearing loss regardless of the family's financial status:
· Early identification and diagnosis of hearing loss
· Audiological evaluations and routine monitoring
· Cochlear implant programming and equipment support
· Multilingual Auditory verbal therapy (facilitates listening & spoken language)
· Family support activities (social gatherings for children, music groups, arts & crafts, social/emotional support for families)
· Pro-bono help and services for uninsured children
Every dollar raised will go directly to help the children and families that we serve. Thanks to your donations no child will ever turned away.
"Not only do you care for others, you reach out to help them, too. Thank for making a difference, especially our life-family." Mother of a 2 year old with cochlear implants
"The words thank you don't seem sufficient to convey our appreciation for all that you have done for us over the past several months... Because of your work, Sam will enjoy a full life, complete with music, laughter, and the sounds of lots of love! We are grateful for all that you have done for us." Michelle- mother of 6 month with hearing loss
Over this holiday season, please help us give the gift of sound in 2016!
