FRC Youth Mission Trip

The youth of First Reformed Church in Schenectady give their winter break to serve others in a rotation of local, urban, rural, and international locations. This is an international year, and we are headed to Palermo, Italy! While Italy may sound glamorous, Sicily has high poverty rates and large numbers of immigrants and refugees, and that is why we are traveling there. We will work with our mission partners to serve people in need and learn more about the lives of refugees, so that we can better understand the global refugee crisis and how we might help refugees and immigrants in our own context.

Our trip is Feb. 13-20, 2016. Ten youth and four adult chaperones are participating in this year's trip. We are holding a number of fundraisers, but would so appreciate your contribution to our trip! This is an important opportunity for youth to experience other cultures, help in tangible ways, reflect on their own context, and nurture a spirit of lifelong volunteerism.
