Used Car to support a foster family
Donation protected
Summer and Austin Smith are in need of a car that will hold six people safely. Why? Because in the last year they have become new foster parents. Though they started with only one foster child this summer, their foster family grew suddenly this fall. Three siblings whose mother died suddenly and were students at Summer's school were going to be split up because no family member was able to take them and no foster home was able to take them all.
Summer and Austin had recently moved into their new larger home and felt they were able. They knew it was the right decision when the foster child they already had said "We have to take them. I had to be split up from my brother and sister. We need to take them all."
They say they feel blessed and feel like being foster parents is their calling. But whenever they go out as a whole family they have to take two small cars. With only a a school teacher's salary and the little she receives from the state and with just buying a new home they are unable to afford a car that is big enough for them all. That is why I am hoping the community can help. Maybe you can't be a foster parent but you can help those that give up so much of themselves and their life by helping financially.
My neighbor has a used Ford Navigator with 128,000 miles that she is selling for 4800. Perhaps we can raise the money to get it for the Smiths. Perhaps we can raise even more than that to get them a bigger more reliable vehicle.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks so much.
