Alec's Vehicle Repair Fund

My name is Alec and I was recently in a car accident on September 23, 2015. Earlier that day my mother's car battery had died and I was trying to get it fixed. I had bought her car battery, delivered it, and was making my way home when I remembered I still had her keys in my pocket. I took an exit off the interstate and was going to make a u-turn to get going in the other direction. I was in the far left lane at a stop light, had my blinker on, and made sure it was safe before I proceeded. As soon as I started to turn a car coming from behind me that wasn't paying attention swerved to my left causing me to hit them. Even said he was playing with the radio when it happened... If he had been paying attention and had went to the right instead of the left, this entire situation could have been avoided. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

Regardless of who was at fault, my insurance will only cover $2000 worth of the damage as long as I pay the first $2000 out of pocket. The repair place won't take monthly payments either. Like most people, I don't have that kind of money just laying around. I barely make enough at my job to cover my current bills and it's just me and my mom at the moment. She can't afford to drop $2000 on this either.

This is why I'm asking for help. I'm in a tough spot because if I don't have a car, I can't get to work. If I can't get to work, I can't pay my bills. I can't take a taxi every day because I can't afford it and I don't have anyone that I can car pool with. I need help to pay off these damages because if I don't, they will keep my car... So please, I hate to sound like I'm begging but I don't think I should be punished for something that could have been avoided.
