Due to the recent changes of government’s laws, millions of families are continuously being forced away from their loved ones. Many of these individuals are our neighbors, friends, and family whom become a great positive contribution to our communities and society. Unfortunately, due to this cause our family too has been recently affected, our loved one has been detained by Immigration and Custom Enforcements. Miguel Gonzalez a student at Sacramento City college and a positive role model to the community as he is part of multiple non-profit organizations. Some of the  organizations he’s involved with where he collaborates with the community includes The Food for Families and Services, Capital Unidos, the Brazilian Center and OccupiedSpace. Agua De Beber is yet another service he provides where he has been a club member for over 10 years, first as a student and now as a teacher. Given his limited time, even through his journey through school, Miguel was still able to spare more of it by becoming a member in two other school activities. One being Maker Space, helping students in various innovations , and the other called Creative Alliance in which he assists in free events for the general public.
To send him to Mexico would honestly be devastating to my family most importantly to my mother whom he is really attached to. It hurts me to see her everyday wondering how my brother is doing. I can feel her frustration and it breaks my heart just seeing her in such a pain. Not only has Miguel contributed so much to the community but he also has become a great inspiration to our family through his support and encouragement to always keep moving forward in the ups and downs of life. Troubled times, however, has led us to make drastic changes and left us not only financially unstable but also unable to take care of all of the attorneys expenses and his possible bail. Therefore, me my family and friends are reaching out for as much support as we can get from his community and anyone who can relate or is touched by this circumstance. We are at loss for words on how we feel about my brothers situation, losing a family member is a difficult thing to process, especially when one is helpless at the time to do anything about it. Having arrived to the United States at such a young age, my brother has built a life that he may potentially never get back if he is sent away, or worse he can become a target back in his birth country after having lived in California for so long. The possibilities of this turning out into a bad situation for him are endless for my family and we fear of what could be. So please I strongly ask to everyone reading this right now, I know my brother doesn't deserve this and my family is desperate to get as much help as we can get, it would truly be an enormous help to be supported financially with anything that anyone can give to help support my brother in his time of need.
Thank you all.

Sincerely
Sandra Gonzalez
