Help Rebuild Poland Family Farm
Donation protected
Established in 1978, my neighbors at the Poland Family Farm have been raising high-quality pasture-raised, vegetarian pork, beef and chicken as well as organic vegetables and small fruits. For years customers have come from many states around to purchase their fine products which they and chefs rave about. At the end of last Oct the owners awoke to the sights and sounds of their barn burning down, taking many of their animals along with it.
Nothing from their barn or its additions could be salvaged. It was too late in the season to rebuild but with the help of some friends they cobbled together what they could to provide shelter for the surviving animals as well as some purchased livestock so that they would have products to sell come spring.
We all know that a hard winter with the constant snows followed that hard fall for them. Along with their barn and animal loss the heavy snows collapsed their 24 x 112 foot hoophouse in March. Insurance proceeds - minimal that they were - were eaten up by dealing with these severe losses. Now they are starting to rebuild & the logs that they cut are being milled, excavation work is carrying on and hopefully friends will come forward to help once things get to the building stage .
Many have asked how to help; one very good way would be to contribute through this fund. Every donation will help. Thank you
