Run Over DUI Driver Need Funds

On Easter Sunday Morning 2017, my son Matthew walked home from meeting with his college friends and was hit by a drunk driver four blocks from his home in Covington, Kentucky. She was going over 25 miles per hour.
He flew through her windshield head first and was thrown to the ground, suffering two broken scapula in his back, a fractured wrist, broken leg and head trauma. He has over 15 staples in his head.
Unfortunately, the woman who hit him had no license, insurance or money. She had 17 prior arrests for alcohol-related crimes. While she and the passenger in her car were not injured, they did not call 911 while my son was bleeding out from his head and other injuries.
While Matthew’s health insurance is covering his stay in the hospital, the insurance company will not approve all the intensive rehab and equipment he will need for his injuries. He cannot walk or lift his arms because of his fractured scapula, and he requires eventual head and possible wrist surgery.
The estimated cost of all this could be as much $35,000, which could add up to more depending on what the health insurance decides to approve. Funds are needed ASAP.
Matthew is a civil engineering graduate student at the University of Cincinnati, but he cannot finish out his semester at school and needs to get better for the fall semester so he can continue his studies.
This terrible event has devastated his life and changed it forever. We will all never be the same. In the mean time, the driver may be out on the streets again.
