Help us get back on our feet.

$5,300 of $5,000 goal

In January of 2016, our son, Adam, committed suicide. It was devestating to our family on many levels, and we are still struggling with the economic blow that resulted from his death. Our adult children were still living at home with us and helping to meet our monthly bills. Our daughter, Rebecca, still lives with us, but she was not able to return to her customer service position after Adam's death. She now works part-time, and earns some income from helping edit books and her craft/jewelry business, but that income has not matched what she made previously. I was teaching school, but was not able to continue due to the stress and anxiety. I have a full-time job, now, but that is not meeting our needs. We don't like the idea of asking others for help, but we are getting desparate. We are putting household items together to sell, as well, but I don't expect that to go far. We are in immediate need, as we have been scraping money up where we can to try to keep utilities turned on. Our church, family, and friends have been very helpful, and contributed greatly to paying funeral expenses and some of our shortfall, but it has not been enough to catch us up. We grieve for our son, and brother, every day, and the stress of trying to keep our home and cars is getting to us. We would be eternally greatful for any help you can give us.

We got a notice, yesterday, that Carmax is about to repossess our van. It isn't operational, but we were hoping we could get it fixed. Maybe, it's just as well that they take it and save us some money on our car insurance. I'm sure it won't be long before we get the same notice from Wells Fargo about the car. We are past due about $1000 on each one, and have not been able to come up with money to catch up.

No Internet until we can come up with money to pay for it. That means no working from home for Chris or Rebecca, or access to my work, unless we go to the library.

I get paid tomorrow, and it's already gone. No money left for car payments, electricity, gas, groceries, etc. Please donate or buy some of our items we are trying to sell. I don't know what else we can do.

We are about halfway to what we need to save our van. Thank you very much to everyone who has helped us so far. If you can help, even a little, please do.
