DR Medical Mission Trip

Donation protected
We are a group of first-year medical students at Jacobs School of Medicine. As part of our commitment to the field of medicine, we are planning a week-long trip to the Dominican Republic to set up medical clinics outside of Santo Domingo. Our team will operate mobile clinics in schools and churches in several rural communities, where the nearest clinic may be hours away, to deliver vital care to local residents. Our estimates project that we’ll be able to provide assistance to over 100 patients per day throughout the duration of the trip, leaving a lasting mark on community health and well-being.

We are planning our trip with the organization, Foundation for Peace, who have staff in the communities that help with our outreach, and can also provide aid with translation. Additionally, they will assist in setting up educational events to teach the community about preventative care and spotting the early signs of common diseases.

We need to raise $2000 to pay for medications (including antibiotics, antifungals, prenatal vitamins, analgesics, antitussives, etc.), first aid supplies, and the materials needed to set up the clinics (tongue depressors, paper for exam tables, plastic bags for medications, etc.). All of the members on the team are paying for their own travel expenses, so all donations collected will go directly towards helping people in need of critical medical care.

Any amount helps! If you have any questions, feel free to shoot us a message. Thank you for your time!
