Skydive for Community First Responder's

On August 19th I will be taking part in a skydive to raise money for the Community First Responders in West Norfolk, namely in the Walpole's and surrounding villages (Callsign NZ527).  Currently I am a medical student at the University of East Anglia and have been a CFR since August 2017.

Community First Responders are volunteers who respond to life threatening 999 calls on behalf of the East of England ambulance service in their spare time. They are a vital component in the chain of survival and play a huge role in increasing chances of survival after an out of hospital cardiac arrest. Increasingly in the East of England region CFR schemes are running vehicles that are solely used for responding purposes (Usually CFRs use their own car). These cars are manned by two CFR's and can be sent to anywhere in the local region where the ambulance service need them, creating a useful resource that will in due course save lives. 

First responders receive no funding from the government and all funding is on a charitable basis, so therefore  I am taking part in this skydive to hopefully raise in the region of £2500 so that another CFR car can be purchased to aid the West Norfolk region. 

Whilst on placement at uni and working in the medical field I have seen the hugely positive effect that CFR's have on the community and individuals who they help. They are a pivotal component of the ambulance service and continue to give up their own time to aid others. 

Any donation is appreciated and all funds will go towards this life saving scheme.
