Games and Arts&Crafts Afternoon
Every Wednesday VISIONEERS is organizing a Games and Arts & Crafts Afternoon in Connections Cafe in Schöneberg for refugee women and children from a nearby centre. The women and children, who participate, come from Syria, Iran, and Afghanistan and are thrilled to have an afternoon away from the refugee centre. Special thanks to the organisers of this project the Blogger Julia and the Art
teacher Julia, who run and come up with all the fabulous ideas for the craft afternoons. We also want to thank Larry and Teri who warmheartedly welcome us into their cafe.
Starting in February we want to offer a regular sewing workshop. We need materials such as fabric, felt, fabric scissors, handicrafts, as well as bus tickets as the refugees
will come from various centres and can only make the journey with a bus ticket.
In addition the crafting room at the cafe needs new flooring so that we can more easily hold future projects there. We would welcome any financial aid to fund this!
Sightseeing tours with Refugees
Many refugees are arriving for the first time to Berlin. We are looking for anyone or organisations interested in taking small groups of refugees on a city tour. If interested, get in touch.
Refugee Hub
Once a week create a Hub where refugees, locals and corporate partner can interact and get to know each other in a welcoming environment. The idea is to welcome anyone, not just refugees, and offer different workshops and projects for a certain period. Professionals can share their knowledge for a good cause. Refugee can use their already assisting skills or learn new ones and get integrated.
Help with renovation and Move
Once a refugee gets an appartment, they don´t receive any help. So we support refugees while moving into their own home: We help when renovating, painting, furniture etc., see
Other actions
Often refugee children cannot attend school right away and spend months in the refugee home, without leaving the facility. We schedule regular days of action, where we take the children to the playground or pony farm, teach them how to brush their teeth and spending time with them.
As VISIONEERS is funded entirely via donations and membership fees we appreciate any donations no matter how small as well as welcoming new members.
