What they care about

The night of the burglary, I lost my chair but I’m deeply grateful I wasn’t home! 🙏🏾Still UP, AWAKE, GRATEFUL & READY! Grand Rising! make this Saturday count.

A HEARTFELT THANK YOU — MY FINAL GOFUNDME UPDATE To all of my followers, supporters, family, friends, donors, and even those who simply stopped to listen— Friday, September 4, 2026, will be my final day posting and updating my GoFundMe campaign. There truly are no words to fully express what my heart feels. What began as one of the most difficult crises of my life has also introduced me to an unexpected family of compassionate people who refused to let me feel forgotten or alone. To every person who donated, shared my story, called, sent a message, prayed, checked on me, or simply offered words of encouragement—THANK YOU. Your presence became strength when my own was running low. I want to acknowledge some of the beautiful ways people showed up for me: To the single father raising five sons whom I have watched grow for nearly 30 years: Your presence, generosity, and continued support reminded me that kindness has no expiration date. To the daughter of a classmate I knew more than 50 years ago: Your comfort and support reached me across decades and reminded me that some connections never truly disappear. To the person who helped provide my smart television: You gave me more than a television—you gave me something to occupy my mind, learn, explore, and look forward to while confined to this bed. To the young woman who helped provide funds for my nourishment: Although I barely had the opportunity to know you, I always sensed there was something extraordinary about you. Your generosity confirmed it. To those who came forward with a wheelchair and resources: You gave me something priceless—hope, mobility, and the possibility of getting back into the world. Doctor appointments, future engagements, and yes—even shopping became possibilities again. And then, when my hope was beginning to crumble beneath the weight of bills and uncertainty, the universe sent an angel. To you and your newlywed husband: Thank you from the deepest place in my heart. Your financial support came at a moment of tremendous need. Your generosity arrived unexpectedly and reminded me that sometimes help comes from places we never imagined. We traveled through school together at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. I never imagined that someone I had never met face-to-face—someone I had only known through class notes and occasional phone conversations—would one day extend such extraordinary kindness to me. Thank you. I will never forget it. This journey has been long, exhausting, emotional, and draining. I have an entirely new appreciation for anyone who has ever had to ask the world for help. To those courageous enough to conduct their own fundraising campaigns, I salute you. I now understand the strength it takes. As I write this from my bed, I am literally in tears. Not because the journey is over—it isn’t. There is still work to do. I am still trying to modify my wheelchair so that it provides the support, safety, positioning, and comfort I need. But something has changed. I no longer feel like I am walking—or rolling—through this journey alone. I feel as though I am leaving this campaign with a newfound family. You have been phenomenal. You have shown me compassion when I needed it most, and you reminded me that even during the darkest chapters, there are still beautiful human beings willing to show up. Although my GoFundMe updates are ending, my voice is not. I will continue sharing my poetry on Nextdoor, which is also connected to my social platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, X, and TikTok. Please continue to reach out, share your thoughts, keep me informed about matters that interest you, and most importantly, stay connected. To every donor. Every sharer. Every caller. Every prayer warrior. Every encourager. Every person who checked on me. Every person who gave what they could. And every person who simply cared— YOU MATTERED. YOU STILL MATTER. You helped carry me through a chapter I never expected to live. From the deepest place in my heart: THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. I am forever grateful.
My childhood journey led me to becoming a professional dreamer and born caregiver. My exposures led me into critical care nursing, specializing in orthopedics. After a life-changing near-death experience and years away from traditional patient care, I discovered a renewed calling in Holistic Guidance, Mind and Body Transformational Psychology, and Medical & Clinical Hypnosis. These occurrences contributed to my wisdom, compassion, and a deeper understanding of the many paths people travel toward healing.
I struggle to find the words to express how deeply grateful I am to everyone who has stood beside me—and especially for the wheelchair that was donated to me. Perhaps the greatest gift I’ve received while lying in this bed is not what has happened around me, but what has transformed within me. I’ve been given the opportunity to revisit painful memories, release traumatic experiences, reclaim my power, and discover strength I didn’t know I still had. Now, I’m ready for my next step: UP and MOVING FORWARD! I’m asking you to please continue to share, donate if you can, and if you can’t, pass the word. Someone may know a person, organization, or wheelchair specialist who can help with the modifications needed to make this chair safe and functional for me. My journey is not over. My next chapter is independence. My next step is OUT OF THIS BED. ✨ Thank you for walking this journey with me.

When I think about how so many people have come together on my behalf, I honestly struggle to find the words. I am overwhelmed with gratitude.

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters, I want to share an important update regarding my journey. As a 69-year-old resident of Bedford, Ohio, living with paralysis from a spinal cord injury 30 decades ago caused by a stalker, the last two months have been incredibly difficult. Since my home was burglarized while I was at a family event and my custom power wheelchair was stolen, I have been tragically confined to my bed. Thanks to a beautiful act of kindness, a motorized wheelchair was recently donated to me! While I am profoundly grateful, my journey is not over. Because of my paralysis, a standard power chair is structurally unsafe for me to use as-is. To prevent severe health complications like skin breakdown, pressure sores, and spinal misalignment, this motorized chair must be clinically customized with specialized seating, positioning cushions, and control adjustments. Because I live on a strict fixed income, the out-of-pocket costs to customize this donated chair are entirely beyond my reach. I am so close to getting out of bed and reclaiming my independence. Your continued donations, shares, and prayers will directly fund these medical modifications. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing with me and helping me rebuild my life. I am reaching out for help after my home was burglarized and many personal and shared belongings were stolen. The hardest loss of all was my customized wheelchair. Because I live with paralysis, my wheelchair is not just a piece of equipment. It is my mobility, my independence, and the way I move through daily life. Losing it has been devastating, and this experience has left me feeling shaken and overwhelmed as I try to recover from something so personal and violating. I am raising funds to replace my customized wheelchair so I can regain the mobility I depend on every day. This support will help me take an important step toward restoring a sense of stability and normalcy after this burglary. Any amount, no matter how big or small, would mean so much to me and is deeply appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing my fundraiser with someone who may be able to help. Please post and share. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any kindness, support, and encouragement you can offer.

Timely wheelchair assessment, authorization, and provision are essential to prevent avoidable complications, preserve function, support rehabilitation, and maintain patient dignity.
