Lois Kelly Needs a Prosthetic leg, Please help this fine young man.
Louis Kelly had his leg amputated October 10th 2015 at Cornwall hospital, Montego Bay Jamaica. In order to function and return to work he needs some help raising the money for a knee down prosthetic leg.
Kelly ( as he is known in Silver Sands ) lives in Samuel Prospect, Trelawny, Jamaica, is 39 years old and has a young daughter. Kelly worked as the bartender for Silver Sands Estates from early January 2000 to 2006. He then moved on as house manager to Red Fox Villa, which is also in Silver Sands, until the amputation October 2015.
Kelly's easy manner & fun loving personality made him extremely popular with tourists, visiting Silver Sands, as well as homeowners and co workers alike . Hopefully this will aid us in raising the money for a prosthetic lower limb.
The cost for a temporary prosthetic in Jamaica is around $900.00 and a permanent ( once the leg has taken it's permanent shape ) one, made in either Canada or the USA is approximately $6000.00. To that end we are trying to raise $7000.00 US to change Kelly's life.
If you have been to Jamaica you will know that life is hard for middle to lower income people here. Having one leg makes it almost impossible. Anyone who has met Kelly knows he is a great guy and deserving of a break, so lets pitch in and give him a chance at earning a living and having a better quality of life.
As go fund me is not supported in Jamaica I am spearheading this campaign on behalf of Silver Sands Cottage Owners Association ( link to be added to SSCOA Facebook page )and will forward all proceeds to pay for Kelly's medical expenses.
It feels good to help someone in need as you never know when it is your turn to seek help.
