Global Medical Brigades

Hello Friends & Family,

I am part of one of the largest student-led health and sustainable development organizations called Global Medical Brigades. Our mission is to improve the lives of under-resourced communities while embedding a model of sustainability, such that we can take a step towards resolving global health and economic disparities. 

This will be my second medical brigade. Last year, our chapter at UCSD traveled to the underserved communities of Honduras, where we had the opportunity to help 745 patients, build hygiene stations for seven families, and dig trenches for a water system in a community that only received clean water once every thirteen days. This year, we will be going to Panama in our interest to build a sustainable and holistic community alongside the locals to better their quality of life. We will be providing health education workshops, public health works, and assisting doctors, a pharmacist, dentist, and optometrist in opening a free clinic for those that don't have access to medical care.
