A popular resistance movement arose with a roar as the result of the November 2016 elections. The passion and dedication has inspired us all. This new movement creates hope in the face of the relentless attacks on immigrants, Muslims, the LGBTQ community and people of color as well as attacks on the environment. All are affected with an onslaught of attacks on social security, healthcare, and economic justice.
Tucson Solidarity (TS) emerged from Women’s March Tucson, which brought 15,000 people downtown on January 21, 2017 for a peaceful march and rally. TS followed with an initiate and sponsored over a dozen teach ins in April.
The goal of TS is to build connections between and among the communities making all of us stronger. We see a Tucson that acts with one voice when defending the vulnerable communities and protecting our values.
Your support is necessary to continue this work. TS needs your help to fund our website with a Calendar to publicize local resistance/networking events; the costs associated with holding a dozen or more teach-ins in April; logistics of rental meeting space, chairs, tables, refreshments, banners, leaflets; building new community/neighborhood networks, etc.
We are moving forward, and with your support, we can change the world. We commit to positive and supportive energy to building an America that practices the values of compassion, tolerance, goodwill, equality and respect.
Items funded:
Website development and 1st year costs: $970
Teach-in series (room rental, projector & screen): $622
Mail box rental: $236
Printing and miscellaneous: $150
Mailing service annual fee (Mailchimp): $216
Thank you very much for supporting this important, peacemaking work.
