Trying to get a car before baby.

We were on our way to a funeral this last week (heading to Portland and onward to Seattle) and got into an accident in Montana that totaled our car. We hit a patch of ice and lost control of the car, which caused us to hit the median. We're expecting our first baby Seamus due within the next week and really need some help getting a replacement car.


We didn't take photos of the car since we were being transported to the nearest hospital to check on our baby. Thankfully he was doing great and all of us were ok.


Connemara has had a lot of work done to her car this year to get it up to par for baby.

- New front tires
- Replacing the rear main oil seal (that alone was $618)
- Replace lower control arm ($307)
- Fix the blower motor to get heat working ($166)


Connemara's dad was a great help. He drove out to Missoula in his rental car to pick us up and take us the rest of the way. When he flew home on Saturday, he left us with his rental to get us back to Fargo.

The backup car we do have is really on its last leg and we don't feel like it's a very safe car to drive baby around in. The car we're replacing was the car for baby appointments/errands. Since the Suzuki is my car and will be largely used for me going to work, Connemara won't have a car at home for emergencies or transportation to doctor appointments for Seamus.
