Tri For Adoption

Katherine (Katie) and I have always wanted to adopt a child as a way to grow our family. Over the past few months, we've started our domestic adoption journey with American Adoptions and hope to be matched sometime in the next 16 months. There are a lot of steps involved in adopting before we can take home our newborn child, and the last hurdle we have to tackle is the financial cost. We have been saving up for this expense, but the financial strain that the adoption process places on a family is substantial and so, due to that, we are humbly reaching out with a request for assistance.
However, rather than just asking for donations, I would like to earn them. Last year, I completed my first triathlon and it was one of the toughest physical and mental challenges I have ever faced. I believe that the task I take on now should be every bit as challenging and more. Therefore, I have decided to take on a trio of triathlons this summer—Tri the Parks sprint in June, Chelan Man sprint in July, and the Lake Stevens Olympic Triathlon in September.
Your generous sponsorship of me during this physical challenge will not only go towards helping fund our adoption—making us proud first-time parents—but 10% of all donations and anything received beyond our goal will be given to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption whose mission is to dramatically increase the number of adoptions from foster care. We want ALL children to have a better chance at finding their forever homes so paying it forward is very important to us.
