Trend Arlington Snowblower Fund
Donation protected
Trend Arlington is very fortunate to have an outdoor rink that is well-managed and well-maintained through an amazing team of volunteers. All across Ottawa, several communities haven't opened their rinks this year due to lack of support. We owe our volunteers a great deal of gratitude for their commitment and hard work. And clearing that snow is hard work, indeed!
In 2018, TACA made a capital purchase of a brand new Ariens Deluxe 30" snowblower. This professional-grade model is a fantastic tool that helps our team of volunteer Dads get their work done quicker and safer than ever.
In 2019, TACA decided to extend the use of the snowblower to a new team of volunteers to clear the paths that lead to Knoxdale Elementary, after it was learned that the City of Ottawa wouldn't plow the paths for us. And so our amazing little machine is serving the community even more!
When we made the purchase (just under $2,750), we dipped into our reserve funds, which are meant to be held for emergency needs and long-term planning. And so we're turning to the community to help pay for this investment, so that we can replenish our reserve fund. After all, it's the community that benefits from the rink!
We've set a goal of $3,000 to pay for the unit as well as some extra money for the additional gas and maintenance that comes with plowing the school paths.
A lot of hands make light work. And a lot of small donations can help us recuperate this expense very quickly. We ask for your support, as we continue to work hard to support our community.
Thanks,
