Treasure Beach Summer Camp

Last summer, Alana and I were fortunate enough to volunteer at the Treasure Beach Summer Camp for young kids in the Treasure Beach, Jamaica area.  Treasure Beach is a tiny fishing and farming community with some of the most wonderful and deserving people.  However, Treasure Beach is not without it's hardships and struggles.  The camp generally accomodates 20-30 children and it is an amazing opportunity for them to engage in arts and crafts, sports, and drama all while building strong relationships with peers and community members.  However, many families in the area cannot afford the roughly $2.00 per day fee to send their child to the camp.  That $2.00 covers transportation and food for the camp attendees. With a little help from the outside community, we hope to provide more kids with the opportunity to go to camp. 
The camp is a total of three (3) weeks long and runs from Monday-Friday so at $2.00 a day, one student can attend the camp for the entire duration for only $30!  If we can raise $900, 30 young kids will have their fees covered.  However, there is always room for more.  Any amount you choose to donate would be greatly appreciated.
We will be going back to Treasure Beach in April to meet with camp coordinators and to drop off the check.  Thank you for taking the time to read this and please consider donating to a wonderful cause.
