Transportation for the Julie Adams House

Tax deductible
If I were to ask you right now to think of someone you know that struggles with addiction, who is the first person that comes to your mind? I can imagine you were probably able to think of someone that has directly or indirectly had an impact on your life. I can also imagine that you have wanted to help this person, but don't necessarily know how. You are not alone. The opioid crisis is something that we as a society continue to talk about, but often fall short of grasping  a complete understanding.

The Julie Adams House is a sober living facility of women located in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood. Their mission is to enhance the emotional, social, and spiritual health of women afflicted with addiction by providing an affordable, safe, clean, and sober environment.

Recently, the Julie Adams House had a change in administration and inherited a long list of problems, both superficial and structural. They were weeks from being shut down. With the help of fundraising and the grace of God, they are still open, yet very much in need. When asked about their greatest need right now, they explained that a van was at the top of the list in order to transport multiple women to different appointments and AA meetings. Many of these women come into treatment with nothing but the clothes on their back. Believe it or not, the simple ability of transportation that we often take for granted, can go a long way.

Therefore, I am asking for a van. While my hope is for a passenger van, I know that they would be appreciative of anything that can get them from Point A to Point B. I realize that this is a big request. I challenge you to get the word out to as many people as possible.

For those of you that are willing to give money to help fund the necessary repairs such as ceiling repair, new flooring, plumbing, electricity etc., you are appreciated! All donations will go directly to the Julie Adams House.
