Equipment for Large Animal Rescue

Tax deductible
This campaign is specific to raising the funds necessary to acquire the specialty equipment needed for Large Animal Emergency Rescue – to efficiently and effectively extricate a large animal safely for both the animal and responder.

Q)  What exactly is Large Animal Emergency Rescue?
A)  Large Animal Emergency Rescue is the response phase of a natural/manmade disaster or accident, where specialized training and equipment are required to rescue a large animal such as a horse or cow.

Q)  What are some examples of large animals rescue?
A)  As many of you are already aware, animals can get themselves into the weirdest predicaments.  It may be as simple as getting down to roll in the pasture and not being able to get the proper footing to right themselves on their own accord.  Mother Nature may have also lent a contributing hand; causing them to be entraped in a sinkhole, mug bog, broken through frozen pond, quickly rising water, etc.  The utmost emergency is that of a vehicle accident; ie. trailer rollover.

The Hardin County Mounted Search and Rescue LLC (HCMSAR) is an all-volunteer, first responder, mounted resource that serves governmental public safety organizations. It is our goal to be a fully-equipped and extensively trained, response resource for the Kentucky State Police, other Kentucky Law Enforcement and Fire Rescue Agencies, as well as the Hardin County Emergency Management. Our Mission is to aid in search and rescue operations, disaster response, mounted perimeter patrols, community relations, and also assist in large animal emergency rescue.

Being a new and wholly volunteer organization, we are attempting to raise funds to support our operations.  To this end, we are hosting the Fall Foliage Benefit Trail Ride on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Green River State Park (KY) and have created this GoFundMe fundraising campaign.  These events are specific to raising the funds necessary to acquire the specialty equipment needed for Large Animal Emergency Rescue – to efficiently and effectively extricate a large animal safely for both the animal and responder.  This equipment will be held by the Technical Rope And Cave Emergency Response (TRACER) unit, an all-volunteer, non-profit, that will respond 24/7, without charge to provide this service.

Many businesses and community leaders are on board, as well as several individuals.  Our community is clearly excited and eager to not only assist us in attaining our goals, but to exceed them exponentially.  You can be a part of that excitement by supporting our cause with your donation.  TRACER is a 501(c)(3), which would allow for tax deductions for all donations.  Additionally, we would be happy to acknowledge your donation on our website, Facebook page, and all media that publicizes the event.  For donations that exceed $300, we will add your logo to the back of the event t-shirts and hoodies - providing that the donation is received prior to the apparel being ordered.

Your generosity will make a difference in our community and surrounding areas by allowing us to continue in our work.  Remember that every donation makes a difference, regardless of size.

We thank you in advance for your support.

Sincerely,
Hardin County Mounted Search and Rescue, LLC
