We are The Blue Cross Warriors!
We noticed this New Year that a lot of us at work were going to the gym more and eating healthier. Someone suggested that we do a Mud Challenge to keep us focused. We then thought if we were going to do something as mad as a mud challenge we might as well make it for a good cause and The Blue Cross Warriors were born.
We are running in the Mud Hero Urban Challenge at Ontario Place on May 23rd 2015. We would like to help raise money and awareness for the charity "Feeding Program for the Northern Dogs". They can be found on Facebook if anyone wants to check them out!
They do not have a website at the moment as (like many small charities) they have limited money and resources. They rely on their supporters to send food for the program. We would like to raise money so we can purchase food for these dogs. We will take care of buying and getting the food sent to them. They also rely on the charity of Gardewine trucking and haulage Co and North Star Air to get the deliveries to them.
As it says on their Facebook page;
"This page has been set up in order to help the many unwanted and starving strays in Northern communities. These dogs have no one and depend on the goodness of community members for handouts of food. This is not by any means a solution to this overwhelming problem. We realize it is a band-aid on a gaping wound but its all some of them will ever get. Until there is a better solution for these strays we will help when able and will hope for a day when this kind of group will no longer be needed. Filling an empty belly of a starving pup or dog for even one day is a small comfort we know, but at least for that one-day they were not hungry. We run out of Thunder bay Ontario Canada".
