Volunteering Mission in Laos

My Name is Tim, I"m a writer and an actor, a carpenter and now soon to be a teacher. I am currently in Muang Ngoi, Laos. This is a rural village accessable only by boat most of the year. Electricity came only 3 years ago. It is a traditonal Lao Village , that is rapidly being dragged into the modern world by tourism. This place was directly on the "Ho Chi MIhn Trail" during the wars in Vietnam, and was heavily bombed. Many here still bear the scars of this tragic time. As an American, I feel a pull on my heart to come here to serve the people to help them move forward. I believe in a concept of "Tikkun Olam," helping to repair the world.
I wrote a story recently about a local man named Kai, who loves his home villadge and has a dream for it's development. Please read the link is here : https://wp.me/p9jAww-6G
What we hope to do is teach English and econmics to the local people and empower them to earn money from the tourist trade. We also want to clean the villadge of litter and garbage, that clogs many open space and rivers. This will require education of the youth as well as adults. We want to set up a volunteer program where people or teams can come here and aid and serve. We we have many intersted people but need to build an infrastructure to support them. A daunting challenge will be securing the necessary visas, and permissions from the still very Communist Government of Laos.
I need to raise the first month's worth of money in the next 10 days. I roughly need [phone redacted] dollars to get started and commit to aquiring a curriculum and long term housing/living, and to pay for the visas and permits.
To be able to serve here and help people would mean so much to me, to be able to wake up everyday and be thankful and to help people. Giving back is a goal of mine and here I can make a difference.
The life here is primitve and without any creature comforts, but I would feel nothing but greatful if you dear reader could help. Please feel free to share this with anyone. If you want to donate the best way is via PayPal on their websight. My address there on Paypal is [email redacted]. It saves me 7% comission.
With Love from Laos...Tim
