Desert Vista High School Theatre
We are the students of Desert Vista Theatre Company, and we need your help to make our company the best it can be. The performing arts are such an important part of our lives, and in today's fiscal environment, our theatre program is brutally underfunded.
Youth theatre provides so many benefits to the young men and women who work so hard to pull off these performances. These include:
* Building confidence and self-esteem
* Improving communication and teamwork skills
* Learning importance of discipline and commitment
* Achieving goals as a unified group
* Learning to work towards a real deadline - opening night!
* Empathizing others through character research
* Honing memorization skills
* Mastering stress management and learning to improvise in real-time when things go awry
* Enjoying sense of pride and empowerment
* Staying physically active
* Having fun and building lifelong relationships
Needless to say, the arts are imperative to our school. And these programs and performances cannot continue without the proper funding. Please help us achieve our goals so we can continue to grow as performers. 100% of the money will go towards props/equipment/costumes/sets -- all the things we need to perform a successful show!
