Fixing Plumbing at Delta Tau Delta

The Theta Psi chapter of Delta Tau Delta at the College of Idaho has been recognized as one of the nation’s leading Delt chapters since its founding in 1999, earning the Hugh Shields Award two times as a top ten chapter within the fraternity. Academics and integrity lie at the center of the center Delta Tau Delta's mission, a mission the brothers at Theta Psi exemplify through active service both on the College of Idaho’s campus and within the greater community.
Unfortunately, the plumbing in the Fraternity's Shelter is old and in need of constant repair. In the last year, mold damage due to old piping resulted in a $11,000 restoration project to return the Shelter to livable conditions. Multiple sewage backups cause flooding in the house annually, and basic plumbing services are often compromised due to the Shelter’s poor piping. As a result, the Theta Psi Housing Corporation doesn't have the funds to permanently fix the plumbing system.

This Shelter is dear to the brothers of Theta Psi chapter of Delta Tau Delta. It represents more than a simple place to live—to the brothers there, it is a constant, ever standing support, a support not unlike that which the brothers offer to one another. Unfortunately, the costs of the restoration to make the Shelter livable by eliminating spores have drained the chapter’s emergency and savings funds, leaving their finances in a dire state.
Currently, the Brotherhood is pledging $2,400 for the Shelter’s remodel, which is all the remaining money in the savings accounts. The Chapter and Theta Psi Housing Corporation are working through multiple avenues to fundraise on campus and has even raised membership dues in an effort to cover the costs. Unfortunately, the remaining $8,500 is needed to regrate plumbing to the main sewer line and install a sewage pump to prevent any future backups. Housing Corporation has exhausted its additional funds as a result of damage done to the shelter due to plumbing and water damage issues. We are asking for an additional $1500 to cover processing fees attached by GoFundMe/ any additional expenses from the repair.
The chapter’s gratitude, especially from the brothers currently living in the Shelter, would be indescribable. For those living in the Shelter, having to worry that they will have to find another place on campus to shower, use the restroom, wash clothes, and the constant worry of mopping up sewage is an incredible burden to pursue while fully enrolled as an undergraduate student and maintaining the rigorous academic standards the chapter has set for itself.

would be incredibly thankful for any donations, however small, to contribute to this project. Raising this money by the end of March 2016 would greatly enhance the standard of living as well as the morale of the chapter.
