Therapist helping victims of Paradise Fire

Hello! My name is Ella Spicer, and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.
I am asking for your support as I travel to Butte County, where the Camp Fire has devastated the small community of Paradise, California and surrounding areas. I will be volunteering to provide crisis intervention, trauma therapy, coping skills, and support to students, teachers, and families in Paradise Unified School district, where all nine school campuses have been either destroyed or significantly damaged by fire. Kids, teachers, and parents will need support as they try to go back to their lives, dealing with the consequences of homelessness, injuries, and losses. It is estimated that 80-90% of the students in Paradise are now homeless.
I sent in an application to volunteer on Monday and I got notified on Wednesday that I am on standby. When I get my assignment, I will need to travel immediately to Butte County, as well as provide for my lodging and transportation. I am asking for your support in buying a plane ticket, hotel or lodging costs, transportation, and food. It is possible that the school district will be able to provide volunteers with lodging and food, but they have not been able to guarantee that, and if possible, I would like to leave those resources available for others who will need them more.
The following is my estimation of costs:
~$200 for a round trip flight to Sacramento
~$450 for 1 week stay in a hotel at $60/night
~$150 for rental car
~$100 food, other expenses as necessary
Any funds you can provide will be gratefully accepted. Please let me know if you have any questions and thank you for your consideration. I will keep this page updated with when I deploy and what specific populations I will be serving. In the event that I do not get a deployment, all funds will be promptly refunded.
