THE GUITAR PROJECT

In 2005, I attended a particular art festival held in Black Rock City, Nevada (you may have heard of it). It was then and there that I had my first unforgettable experience with big art. I got completely enthralled and inspired by the wonderland of elaborate and intricate projects. Year after year, after returning home to Alabama from this particular festival held in the middle of the desert in Nevada, I would feel so inspired but unable to take the next step in becoming part of it by creating art of my own. I felt trapped.

This is my first step in freeing myself from that trapped feeling, and hopefully it will inspire and free others who may be in my same position. This project is much bigger than just an oversized guitar; this is the beginning of an ongoing effort to generate creativity in my hometown and all over the South. I want to show people that creative thinking and actually creating is easer than one may expect, and eventually get into a position to help them reach their goals; just as you are here to help me with mine. I want to inspire others not only to think creatively, but to get out and do something about it. Help me show others that THEY CAN!

The Project:
A guitar that stands over 9' tall, includes LED lighting and an interactive fire effect.  The goal is to take the guitar to as many events as possible to promote creativity as well as The Shoals area.

What about the money?
All of the money donated will go to the expenses of creating the guitar.

Good news supporters and friends! I have completed The Guitar Project! I will be posting pics and videos of the project soon! Thank you so much for your support! I do have some other news to share with you. The Alabama state fire marshals office has not approved the project for public display and has requested that I have it lab tested. I will be reaching out to the burner community for advice and suggestions. If anyone has any experience with having products UL or ETL listed I would love to hear from you!

Fire test with the local fire Dept!

Last week our local fire Dept was dispatched to our work space due to someone thinking a smoke stack was on fire. To their surprise it was a 9 1/2' guitar art piece.

We also submitted the safety plan and design to the state fire marshals office. When approved we will then apply for our public display permit. Wish us luck! I also want to thank all of the supporters for the donations we are very close to our goal of bring this art to the public and promoting creativity.
