The Wimbleball Ramble - for Emma

Donation protected
Losing someone is never easy. Losing someone before their time is even harder. Emma died of Bowel cancer, not something you’d ever associate with a young, healthy woman of 29. As a group of childhood friends, we didn’t know much about the disease, but we were to learn, fast. The time we had together in those 11 months from diagnosis was invaluable, we made amazing memories, but it was also the most agonising time.

It’s taken us a long time to get to a place where we are able to talk about it, and want to do something public in Em’s memory. But now we are doing it in the most Emma way we can think of!

For 24 hours from Saturday 27th July at 10am one of the four of us, or at times all four of us, will be walking continuously around Wimbleball lake on Exmoor to raise money for charity and to remember Em. We have chosen Wimbleball lake as it was one of her favourite places.

We are raising money for three charities linked with Em. Donations will be split between, St Margaret’s hospice who cared so well for her (and us) in the later stages of the illness, The Butterfly Book Award (set up in her memory) and Bowel Cancer UK.

Thank you for your donation, and wish us luck.
