MAKING A DIFFERENCE
The Q T Dementia Club was launched on the 3rd October2013 , its purpose to support members of our community suffering from Dementiarelated illnesses, their families and carers. The create a social environment for carers and their loved ones to enjoy some quality Time together. We meet every two weeks on Friday afternoons at the Memorial Hall, Whitland.
The Taff Q T Dementia Club is the only club within a 15 mile radius of St Clears, available to those suffering from Dementia in the Community, where they are able to enjoy a social afternoon.
We are the only club to offer a free door to door Bus service to our fortnightly sessions that are so important to those members of our community, who do not have transport or a licence to drive.
Members diagnosed with Dementia related illnesses such as Alzheimer's, Vascular Dementia,Parkinson's etc need all the help and support they can get and thats where the Q T Club has a roll to play.
Dementia related illnesses are progressive, which means that symptoms can only get worse over time, how quickly depends on the individual. With Alzheimer's, memory loss is the first symptom, followed by a deterioration of movement, confusion, lack of motivation and inevitably the loss of independence and the ability to care for ones self. Patience and understanding is the key to helping and supporting those with this dreadful illness, that knows no boundaries and at this time , incurable.
The main reason for setting up the Taf Q T Dementia Club is to give our members much needed Quality Time while they are still able to respond and enjoy life. ( AND THERES MORE TO COME?) see facebook https://www.facebook.com/TAFQT/?hc_ref=SEARCH&fref=nf
