THE REMAINS: MURAL PROJECT
Donation protected
The Remains Studio/Gallery in Hood River Oregon is on a mission to bring new and fresh public art to the Columbia River Gorge! This project will allow Nate Chavez and Nic Vik to create a mural that stretches hundreds of square feet on the corner of 3rd and Industrial Ave. This mural will not only reflect the artistic movement that is happening in the gorge, but will also honor Forest Andrews who tragically lost his life in a skateboarding accident in this location.
A project of this size is very time consuming and materials can be rather costly when covering a surface this large. There are many factors such as wall repair, surface preparation, high quality paints, sealers, rentals, utilities, and maintenance of the mural for years to come.
We intend to get started immediately on the wall, and hope to have reached our monetary goal by May 1st. Our estimated completion time is June 1st. The sooner we raise the funds, the faster the project will move.
This Project is very near and dear to our hearts. Forest was a beloved friend, brother, and son who had many great artistic talents. Forest had a unique ability to inspire those around him, and still does to this day. He enriched peoples lives with his kindness and treated everyone he encountered as a friend. This mural will incorporate elements of Forest's art, and will be a permanent art installation dedicated to his memory.
We appreciate all of your love and support!
