The Oast - Telling Our Story
Tax deductible
After a successful campaign to collect memories of the Oast, we now have a wonderful collection of historical facts, figures and artefacts, along with local anecdotes and memories, together with our amazing new (previously unseen map of Rainham from 1735).
We are launching our fundraising appeal to make our vision a reality to showcase the research and tell our story for everyone in the community to learn and enjoy.
The signage and displays we want to be up in the Tea Room and corridor by December and need the community to get behind us to make this happen.
The Oast has so many local stories to tell, from The Wakeley's - a local entrepreneurial family who built, owned and ran the Oast, to the local families and even the kings and queens who battled and traded the land on where the Oast now stands in the 11th Century.

We want The Oast to be at the heart of local history, memories and a place of research.
Please do help us and donate all you can
