The Kind Grind break-in

Sadly, The Kind Grind coffee shop on Lucius street Torquay was broken into on Sunday the 19th of August . The person who broke in has taken the contents of the till, the till itself, a mobile phone, a tablet used to take online delivery orders and the tip jar. Not only this but the lock is damaged and the coffee shop has lost business and the colleagues their wages due to having to stay closed on the Sunday. As many of you are aware The Kind Grind is more than just a coffee shop. Its a hub for the local community. Its a lifeline to many. The owner Steffi is one of the most inspirational people I know. She has created and built a support system and caring environment for anyone with the biggest and smallest of needs. Her suspended coffee programme is one of a kind in Torquay, helping people of all walks of life. I know this on a personal level as I am someone who has needed her help and support. Without Steffi and The Kind Grind I wouldn't have had the support I have needed.
Steffi herself is a single parent of two small children trying to make a difference with limited resources and something like this could ruin any small business. Anybody who has been to The Kind Grind or heard about it, whether it be on social media or in the local paper will know how much compassion Steffi has. The saddest thing about this incident is that if the person involved had come into the coffee shop and spoke to Steffi then she would've welcomed them with open arms, a warm cup off coffee and given them the clothes off her back to help them get out of whatever situation it was they were in, instead of them turning to crime.
