ok so this is not easy. First thank you for taking the time to read this, as im sure there are lots of time wasters out there... Im from New Zealand, nearly 50 years old and am currently living in Spain.
Im a chef have been for nearly 35 years , wandering the globe cooking for whom ever needed my services, only thing with this job, you loose contact with family and friends, and i have lost alot. The reason I am in Spain is because i have two children here that i love more than anything in this world, my wife (who is spanish) decided quite a while ago that she didnt want me any more, and put me thru two years of hell to prove it.
The thing is we started a business here, we converted her mums house on the edge of the sierras to build a beautiful restuarant, and it was alot of work on my behalf, we started a restaurant from scratch to a 5 star rated restaurant which is now busy.
Since the seperation i have lost everything, my wife, my kids, my business,I am here to try and make a living in a very small Spanish village , where most people treat me as a outsider even after 4 years of living here
I have applied myself, i am back in the small village to just get on with the challenge of a new life in a country i hardly speak the language (now studying spanish lots),and have no income or forseeable work.
I have a brilliant idea for later but need more language skills and knowledge of local council workings ( no tot mention funds)
In the meantime as a bit of therapy and to feel closer to my children i am writing a childrens book detailing 10 adventures of my children with a magic chest.
I hope to publish this online as an ebook, but i also need to live.
IM searching for work, have tried three places so far in immediate area....no luck .. i am approaching another three places next week, then i have to look further out.
I have no car, we seperated 3 months ago , and well she needs our only transport.
I just spent the last three months in London wandering around like a ghost , working to get back to my kids of 8 and 5 years old, they both missed me terribbly especially my boy.
they have been much happier since seeing me back and i would like to keep it that way, Im sorry but skype is not quite the contact i want with my kids as a father.
i want to hold them, kiss them , reassure them.
unfortunately it was not an easy decision to leave in the first place.
my now ex wife decided to put other priorities before me and my kids, but she walks away with everything..
sometimes life is not fair at all
so here I am trying just to start a new chapter and be a dad to my kids who i live for,
I have no other options
and well doing this may be a step forward , but some how feels like im sitting in a gutter asking for money..
i have skills and i love to write and have done a fair bit over the years..
I think other people may enjoy reading these stories to their kids, and maybe with the thought they are also helping me be near mine.
i have three more weeks here of paid rent, its a great place my kids have slept over for the last three nights.
if i dont find work i have to go back to london, where i get to see my kids twice a year....not really enough time to be a dad.
i want to try and carve alife here in Spain, to be near my kids as some thing will give one day , and i want to be here for my kids when that happens.
i have no where else to go, i have been wandering the world working for so long that i have no home base, except for the life i had for the last 8 years with my ex and kids.
I just want to see my beautiful kids grow up.
And i think this project may help towards that

I have written the intro, and first three stories, also have outlined stories for the other 7 chapters, it is a work in progress but a positive one.
