Hey Y'all!
As a former Texan, I know how much many of you want to help when you see a community in need. I've received inquiries from my Texas family & friends about how to help the victims of Hurricane Michael so I decided to create this campaign for all my Texas peeps who can donate money, supplies or time fundraising to help the communities in need.
I knew the need for help was there after learning that 2 of our employees lost their homes and had nowhere to go. After taking my first carload of water over on Sunday, I saw firsthand just how bad the situation is for our neighbors who desperately need our help. (Photos from Sunday already uploaded) As many of you have seen on television, Hurricane Michael has left so many in our area completely devastated. Schools have been destroyed, homes have been wiped out, businesses left with no means to open and make money, banks are without internet & power, but in the midst of all of this people are still hopeful and grateful when you hand them a hot plate of food and meet them with a warm embrace. Countless locals have been dropping water, food, diapers, tarps, generators, ice, feminine hygiene products, batteries, etc. on a daily basis. These same locals have gone out and helped families clear trees off their homes. There is still a major need for so much more. These basic necessities are the items we are asking for right now.
Your donations will go to the purchase of these items and will be dropped off to the areas that need them most every few days. If you want to send supplies in place of a monetary donation, please send to Kara Kienitz at 27 Topside Drive, Inlet Beach, FL 32461. Please keep in mind that power will not be restored for most of these areas for another 2 weeks and the rebuilding of these communities will take many months.
