                    Teenage Exercise And Mentoring 
                                       Fitness Program

T.E.A.M FIT was created to help the kids in our communities develop both healthy habits such as exercising and eating right, as well as the habits necessary to become positive role models, leaders, and successful men & women. T.E.A.M FIT, is structured around fitness, because exercising is not only beneficial to the body, but to the mind as well. Exercising increases brain growth and the ability to learn, it also teaches discipline, goal setting, better decision making; it also boost self-esteem levels, which allows our teens to realize that they can achieve anything that they put their minds to.


How Can You Help?:
Many of the teens that will benefit from T.E.A.M FIT, are from single parent, struggling homes, and more so than often, their parents are unable to afford programs such as T.E.A.M FIT. Your contributions would help pay for the cost of starting this program, as well as the cost of each participant. Not, only would you be helping a parent, but you'd be giving a teen a chance to succeed, so that one day they could give back!

EXERCISING:
Most children enjoy being physically active, and the exercise they get while they play contributes to the development of strong bones and muscles. Unfortunately, there are an increasing number of barriers to exercise for kids in today’s modern world. Television and video games, parents who work long hours, cuts to the physical education programs and recess in public schools and unsafe neighborhoods can make it difficult for kids to get the minimum amount of exercise they need to be healthy.
Kids who follow a healthy diet and exercise regularly are more likely than kids who are sedentary to stay active as adults. Although more research needs to be done, at-risk children who are physically active on a regular basis reduce their risk of developing chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes as adults, reports the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Also, building strong bones, particularly during adolescence, may reduce your child’s risk of developing osteoarthritis later in life. 
Kid's these days lack the respect, discipline and self-respect needed to not only avoid becoming a statistic, but to also, overcome the odds and succeed in life. Fitness, along with mentoring will give the teens in our communities the tools and motivation they need to change their habits and their lives.



MENTORING: 
There are many benefits when it comes to mentoring our youth, in-fact nearly every successful person you read about or see on television, had a great mentor, who encouraged them to be their best, make good decisions and never give up. Unfortunately, in communities throughout the U.S., there are very few positive role models around for this generation of at-risk youth, which is leading to an increase in unproductivity, crime, incarceration, and senseless loss of lives. Therefore, not only is it our mission to  provide mentors, but produce mentors from those who have directly experienced the effects of poverty, violence, and misguidance.
