Team 34 - Limestone County Robotics
We are FIRST Robotics Team (FRC) Team #34 - The Rockets! We are the only FRC Robotics Team in Limestone County School District and Athens City School District. We were also the first FRC team in the state of Alabama and are celebrating 20 years of robotics teamwork this year.
FIRST Robotics is a fabulous program for students in grades 9th-12th. It is an exciting, multinational competition that partners technical professionals with young people to solve engineering design problems in an intense and competitive way. The program is a life-changing, career-shaping experience -- and a great deal of fun for students and mentors -- involving lots of focused brainstorming, real-world teamwork, dedicated mentoring, project timelines, and critical deadlines that help students better understand our world.
Because we are based at the Limestone Career Technical Center, we are able to offer this opportunity to 7 local high schools. In addition to being a competitive "sport for the mind" that encourages careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), this program also offers numerous scholarship opportunities for students who might not otherwise attend a 4-year university. We would love to develop a partnership with local businesses and individuals.
Due to the past and current state of the economy, our team lost one of our primary corporate sponsors which closed its entire Huntsville operation. Since that time we have been diligently seeking 'new' funding that would allow our students to attend regional competitions and purchase new tools, robotic hardware, and computer software. We are asking for financial assistance on behalf of our Robotics Team at the Limestone Career Technical Center this season. The students meet 3 nights per week and all day on Saturdays to commit to designing, building, and programming a working robot that accomplishes a set task within a 6-week time frame.
Some sponsorship packages allow tax-deductible advertising of the contributing company/organization logo on our team website, our pit display, and even our robot.
We have a number of fundraising activities planned and have already hosted several fundraisers to accompany sponsorships and donations from individuals and businesses to help with the overall annual cost of approximately $30,000 for our team. In March, our team hopes to attend the Arkansas Rock City Regional Competition in Little Rock, Arkansas to compete with other Robotics teams all over the nation. In addition, our own Huntsville, Alabama will host the very first Rocket City Regional at the Von Braun Center, March 23-26 2016.

We greatly appreciate any and all assistance given to our team by our donors.
Thank you and GO ROCKETS!!
