TEAM MICHAEL

Our family member and beloved brother Michael Corgnati has been diagnosed by the UCLA Medical Center with pulmonary fibrosis- a life threatening interstitial lung disease (IlD) of unknown cause. There is no cure for ILD and medication to possibly slow the progression is very expensive. Michael wishes to try a new treatment with stem cells which is not approved by the AMA and thus not covered by insurance. We are researching this therapy, and analyzing costs of therapy, travel, accomodations and medication.
Without treatment, Michael's life expectancy is only 2-3 years. With treatment such as stem cell and medication we hope to improve and enhance Michael's quality of life and prognosis.
Michael has worked all of his life to help others. Now he needs our help. His vocation over time has involved people of all ages, including serving as staff member, coach, referee and umpire for young children at Lemon Grove Park in Hollywood.
Mike was also the Public Relations Director for the Sugar Ray Robinson Youth Foundation, helping young inner city children. For the past 12 years he has supported a humanitarian group, The Newland Institute which works with the United Nations to help eliminate suffering all over the world.
Michael served with distinction on the Board of Directors for the Admiral Jeremiah Denton Foundation, headed by the war hero and US Senator that arranged to get food, clothing and medicine to needy people worldwide. Additionally, Michael's TV Production company has done many commercials, Public Service spots and videos for groups such as the City of San Diego to promote their public libraries. For the past 14 years Michael has produced live and inspirational tributes to Mother Teresa worldwide, with his colleague and dear friend Marlene Elias.
