Who is Kumru:
Kumru is a 30-year-old teacher in Turkey. Soon after she completed her education, she took a job in the most eastern region of Turkey in Yuksekova Hakkari. This is an underserved region of the country, where there is a shortage of teachers and millions of children who are in need of elementary education just like the rest of us.
What happened to her:
It all started out just like any other night, Kumru going to bed excited to see her students the next day. As she was sleeping, her bedroom walls exploded by the pressure of 4000 gallons wet concrete, which ended up covering the entire room over her body, causing her to suffocate. This surreal and unfortunate event was caused by an illegal construction that was going on in the connected building over without any permits.
For 9 months she was under intensive care, because she stopped breathing under all the wet concrete for hours and hours. As time went on, the lack of oxygen caused her to lose majority of her brains cells, heart to stop and organs to fail. She was pretty much left for dead and the scary thing is something like this could happen to anyone.
Fortunately enough through a miracle teacher Kumru managed to grab on to life and fight for it even if meant living through a tube unable to move talk or eat.
Her brother has been taking care of her for the past year and a half since she’s been out of the hospital. In Turkey there is no neuro-rehabilitation for her conditions. However the doctors at the Kliniken Schmieder in Germany who are confident that she can be rehabilitated and are giving her another chance at life after analyzing her conditions via her hospital paper work and homemade videos.
For the past year they have been trying to raise money for her medicine, treatment and lawyers to try over and over to get permission from the government to be granted access for treatment in Germany. After a year and a half in court, they finally got the approval to get treatment at hospital in Germany and the only thing they're missing now is the money to pay for it. She's been waiting for the past two years paralyzed, lets not make her wait any longer when there is a treatment for her conditions.
How you can help:
Now, here is where we can all unite and work together to help bring teacher Kumru back alive rehabilitated, walking, talking, eating and teaching as she used to. Her brother is not well off and they cannot afford this treatment for her. The treatment, which is minimum of 8 weeks long and her expenses to get there, is estimated out to be $55,000.
I believe with all my heart if we all work together we can raise this amount and more. Any small donation will make a difference, if you cannot make a donation please keep your prayers with her and pass the word around.

My name is Yusuf from Californa, USA. I've never met teacher Kumru Konak nor know her personally. I heard about her story earlier this month and want to help out in any way as I could. After reaching out to Kumru's family and getting their permission, I took it upon myself to raise the sufficient amount needed for her treatment.
All of the funds raised will be going directly into Nargül Konak's bank account in Germany, as she is the sister of Kumru.
