Rebuilding my Nepali family's life

Dear friends and family,

You will have no doubt heard about the earthquake that has all but destroyed large areas of Nepal. Most of you know this about me, but I lived in Nepal for some time back in 2003 as a Uni student. I lived with a family for 8 months and became like a daughter to them. I met them again 10 years later which was amazing to see them more financially secure and still as happy and jovial as ever. 

Unfortunately the earthquake destroyed my family's home as well as the homes of the 5 older sisters. I've managed to speak to my 'brother' who reassured me that everyone is alive and unharmed.

Sadly that's where the good news ends. They are living in their field and have few items to cook with and have to sleep under a tarp. The unseasonably cold and rainy weather is just adding to the challenges. 

My brother sent me photos and although they made me burst into tears, a little smile came to my face when I saw the older sisters in the photos - they had all returned home to help their parents. This is just a testament to how amazing this family is and how much they try to support each other. 

I'm not able to send any physical items at the moment as it just isn't able to get into the country, but I have to try and do something to help them get some immediate support as well as long term, re-building their homes and lives.  If you do have any few pennies, dollars or pounds laying around that you could part with, you'd be supporting me to give back to this wonderful family who helped shape the person I am today. I can't tell you exactly how my family will use the money because it's not even known what amenities they can get access to, but I hope you trust me in knowing that any contributions will have life saving and life changing impacts on my Nepali family.
