Help for Tao and Family Phase 2!

Please help! Our dear friends Tao, Milve, and their 3 year old daughter Beatriz have fled the terror of Venezuela’s current political crisis. They have endured food shortages, and violence in their home country. They are currently living in Trinidad but are unable to claim refugee status there.  Right now they are living away from all of their family, friends, and resources for the safety and well-being of their daughter.  

Wes and I were recently in Trinidad when we learned of our life long friend’s hardship. We are raising money to bring them here to Canada but the cost is astronomical.  We are seeking your support to help fund their dream of life with hope and opportunity.  We want to bring them here to Canada where they can live with us until they get on their feet.

Tao is a world class athlete who qualifies under a special coach/athlete application to immigrate to Canada.   We have hired a Canadian immigration lawyer to handle the case.  Your donation goes directly to cover the legal fees and proof of funds required for their application to be processed.  The legal fees are $11 500 CAD. They also require $20 000 CAD savings to be able to qualify.  We are trying to raise the entire $30 000 required.  

The application needs to go through in the next two weeks and any help would be greatly appreciated.  Even a small donation will make the world of difference for this wonderful family and their young daughter.

1) How are you related to the parties you're raising funds for:
My name is Barbara Vezza. My husband and I have been friends with Tao for 20 years.
2) I Barbara Vezza will be withdrawing the raised funds into a Royal Bank of Canada account opened specifically for funds raised in this campaign. The account is separate from all of our personal accounts.
3) How and when will you deliver the funds?
Once we reach $11 500 CAD I will be withdrawing funds to the RBC account and making a debit payment to the lawyer hired to handle Tao & his family's case.
If any further funds remain, they will be held in the RBC account as part of the proof of funds required for them to enter Canada. Once they arrive this money will be used for getting them established with appropriate clothing for our climate, basic living expenses etc. The money will be transferred into their name to use as they require.
