Tamira's Twins Fund

Think back to the apprehension you felt when you were expecting your first child.  All the worry over how to feed them, what to do when they cry, how to hold them even.  And if you have had twins, especially as your first children, remember how doubly scared you might have been.  And if you were a very young mother, a single mother or without the support of your family, how paralyzing that situation would be. Now put all of those scenarios together and you will understand what Tamira is facing.

Our church's women's group at Christ Lutheran Church in Woodcliff Lake was introduced to Tamira back in December through our annual Christmas gift drive.  She's an amazing 18 year old girl who has not had it easy. She gave birth to twin girls prematurely in January and has no family support.  Our group had a baby shower for her in January to provide some of the much needed supplies to get her started, because she had nothing, like car seats, stroller, pack and play, etc. She is doing everything she can to keep her children and provide for them all on her own, but she recently lost her housing and the babies are being released from the hospital. We have found her temporary housing through a wonderful woman in New Milford that has agreed to take them in while she finds something more permanent. As you can imagine, there are many financial needs to care for these newborns. Our group at church has raised some funds to help her, but she will need much more to cover everything they need.
